This course is open to complete beginners, or salty seasoned veterans of Mother Ocean, however an ability to swim is essential. 

Our one-to-one charter is a fully customised experience designed for individuals who want expert guidance, personal attention, and access to some of South Devon’s best spearfishing and foraging spots by boat.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, this tailored day on the water offers both hands-on instruction and guided exploration. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced skipper who will ensure your safety while delivering professional, in-depth coaching throughout the day.

For beginners, this charter provides the perfect introduction to:

  • Freediving fundamentals – including breathing, duck dive and effective finning techniques, equalisation, and safe diving practices
  • Spearfishing basics – covering equipment use, underwater hunting techniques, and ethical practices
  • Underwater Foraging – learning how to locate and responsibly harvest scallops, lobster, and other edible species

For more experienced divers, the day can be tailored to focus on specific species or skill development, taking advantage of boat and expert guidance to access a range of productive reef networks and dive sites along the South Devon coastline.

Equipment

If you haven’t already purchased your own spearfishing equipment, we can provide you with all the kit, except neoprene socks and gloves, for just £30. Unfortunately surf/standard style wetsuits are not sufficient and will result in you getting too cold and likely also damaging the neoprene of your wetsuit. If you need to rent our equipment, which includes a spearfishing wetsuit, simply add this option to your basket at checkout for only £30 extra.
