From finning technique\, getting your weighting right and perfecting your duck dive to practicing the different hunting techniques from foraging for lobsters/scallops and other crustaceans to techniques developed to effectively hunt fish.  \n\n\n\nWhat we’ll cover throughout the day:\n\n\n\n\nEquipment walkthrough\n\n\n\nHow to find good hunting grounds\n\n\n\nUnderstanding weather conditions and their impact on spearfishing\n\n\n\nOwn safety as well as buddy safety \n\n\n\nImportance of correct weighting\n\n\n\nFinning technique\n\n\n\nDuck dive technique\n\n\n\nEqualisation\n\n\n\nHunting techniques \n\n\n\nHow to maximise bottom time\n\n\n\n\nPrerequisites\n\n\n\nThis course is open to complete beginners\, however an ability to swim is essential. \n\n\n\nEquipment\n\n\n\nIf you haven’t already purchased your own spearfishing equipment\, we can provide you with all the kit\, except neoprene socks and gloves\, for just £30. DESCRIPTION:During the course we cover everything from equipment required for safety & comfort\, to environmental factors to consider when planning a dive\, to learning how to recognise good hunting grounds before setting out for your spearfishing or foraging adventure. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup size: 5 | Duration: 2hrs | Instructors: 1 | Location: Online \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n£35.00 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: We recommend all beginners take this course ahead of booking the Intro to Spearfishing & Foraging course. Doing so will give you a core foundation to build upon during the practical course and ensure that you are able to get the most out of the experience.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis spearfishing theory course will be held remotely via Google Meet and last approximately 2 hours. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout. \n\n\n\nThis course is suitable for all ages and abilities\, from complete beginners to those more experienced divers\, to those who simply wish to have a better understanding of the theory behind it all! \n\n\n\nDuring the course we teach you about the equipment used for freediving\, foraging or spearfishing from wetsuits and how they differ to surf wetsuits\, to the different types of fins and their pros and cons. We’ll discuss the importance of getting your weighting right and how that can impact a dive. We’ll review the correct use of buoys & floats and other best practices to ensure you maximise safety during your dives.  \n\n\n\nOnce we’ve covered the gear and how to correctly and safely use it\, we’ll move on to exploring all the factors every diver must consider when planning a dive.
